Recent developments surrounding the Fugees include a reunion of Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean at multiple events, with plans for new music and a 2026 Global Citizen Festival headline. Tensions from past conflicts, notably Wyclef Jean's admission of being 'the wild one' in a long-standing rift, have resurfaced alongside public performances and tributes, including a memorial for collaborator John Forté. Despite a shortened set at a festival, the group's legacy remains prominent in hip hop and pop culture.
