This week in alternative country, tributes and retrospectives take center stage, with My Morning Jacket and Modest Mouse joining forces on Neil Young covers for a forthcoming tribute album. Several artists mark significant anniversaries, including R.E.M. celebrating three decades since New Adventures in Hi-Fi and the 20th anniversary of key releases from Magnolia Electric Co., Richard Buckner, and R.E.M.'s I.R.S. years compilation. New music also emerges, as Josh Rouse releases a new album produced by Brad '1972' Jones, and The Bros. Landreth unveil a live album through Birthday Cake Records. Meanwhile, The Lumineers revisit an unreleased track, and Lambchop release their latest work, Punching the Clown.
