Releases of the week

Alternative metal releases, week 41

October 5 to October 11, 2026 · 30 releases

This week in alternative metal, tributes and new collaborations mark a moment of reflection and innovation. Power Trip honors Riley Gale with their first release since his passing, while Mastodon blends music and paleontology with a vinyl featuring real fossils. New projects emerge from established names, including a doom metal collaboration between members of THE SWORD and ZOMBI, and a joint effort between Thélyson Orélien and Tom Morello. Meanwhile, releases from ALTER BRIDGE, Ice Nine Kills, and The Violent Hour expand the genre’s sonic landscape.
