Alternative r&b releases, week 39

This week in alternative R&B, artists explore identity, cultural roots, and sonic experimentation. Taylor Swift expands her theatrical narrative with new songs from 'The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore,' while Tiakola channels African heritage on WpointM. The Weeknd introduces 'Tokyo,' blending anime nostalgia with his signature mood, and Drake unveils 'Quebec' alongside visual storytelling in 'FOMO.' Meanwhile, serpentwithfeet, BINA., and Shay Lia with KAYTRANADA deliver intimate, genre-blurring tracks that highlight emotional depth and dancefloor energy.
