Boom bap releases, week 38

This week’s boom bap releases highlight a convergence of legacy figures and emerging voices, with Rakim, Kurupt, and Masta Killa joining forces on 'The Godbody LP' and Ghostface Killa, Daz Dillinger, and Raekwon contributing to 'Rock Ya Body'. New tracks from Axian, RINZ., and Louk, as well as Mildred’s 'Bird Laugh' and Jhené Aiko’s 'Love Bomb' featuring Ab-Soul, underscore the genre’s evolving sound. Meanwhile, Jay-Z’s upcoming 'Jay-Z in 8' docuseries and 50 Cent’s retrospective on 'Back Down' reflect on the genre’s cultural footprint. The week also sees Hunxho announcing his departure from rap with 'I Quit Rap' and a collaborative effort from MC Solaar and Traffic featuring Ab-Soul and Saint Pat Beatz.
