Downtempo releases, week 42

This week in downtempo, new albums from Eels and Yummm arrive alongside reworkings and collaborations that reflect introspection and social resonance. Artists like Matmatah, Bibio & Dorian Concept, and FKJ explore personal journeys and sonic textures, while new tracks from Saya Gray, Aminé, and Misha offer moments of quiet intensity. French releases from Chloé and Arya signal evolving artistic directions, and ambient projects from Deaf Center and DreamScenes deepen the genre’s atmospheric presence. A standout moment includes a powerful reimagining of Suzanne Vega’s 'Luka' as a statement against sexual violence.
