Jazz fusion releases, week 36

This week's jazz fusion releases highlight a blend of enduring legacies and fresh collaborations. New work from Henry Threadgill, Vijay Iyer, and Dafnis Prieto, alongside Steve Swallow's Winter Songs and corto.alto's PRAYED WE WOULD, reflect ongoing innovation. Archival material such as Sun Ra's Door of the Cosmos and Brand X's 1977 live recording offer historical depth, while tributes to figures like Wayne Shorter and Stanley Clarke underscore the genre's evolving identity. Pat Metheny and Ornette Coleman's visualizer release, along with Marcus Miller's reflections on 1984, further connect past and present.
