Rap rock releases, week 36

August 31 to September 6, 2026 · 10 releases

This week in rap rock, reflections on legacy and collaboration take center stage. New releases and retrospectives highlight the genre's enduring influence, from Lil Wayne's latest track featuring a nod to a sports team to a tribute concert honoring the Ramones. The Beastie Boys' 40th anniversary is marked by a new book, while archival material and personal stories, such as Travis Barker's ongoing struggles and Shifty Shellshock's documented journey, offer deeper insight into the artists behind the sound. Meanwhile, cross-genre fusions and digital integrations continue to expand the boundaries of the genre.
