Rock opera releases, week 37

This week in rock opera, My Chemical Romance marks the 20th anniversary of The Black Parade with an expanded reissue and a live debut of 'The Light Behind Your Eyes.' Meanwhile, The Who celebrate the 45th anniversary of 'Hooligans' and prepare for a Super Deluxe Edition of 'By Numbers.' Additional highlights include Bon Iver’s unexpected jingle for a Minnesota bar, reflections on Genesis’s enduring danceable tracks, and insights from Steve Hackett and Peter Hammill on their evolving legacies. The Telluride premiere of a documentary on Pete Townshend further underscores the genre’s lasting cultural resonance.
