Syd Barrett is being celebrated on the occasion of his 80th birthday with a tribute concert in Cambridge and a special album featuring contributions from Pink Floyd members and David Gilmour. Events highlight his lasting influence on rock music and his pivotal role in shaping Pink Floyd’s early sound, despite his withdrawal from public life. A retrospective exhibition of his iconic Madcap floorboards is also set to open in July on the South Coast.
