The Animals achieved global fame in 1964 with their No. 1 hit 'The House of the Rising Sun,' a rendition of a traditional folk ballad that influenced Bob Dylan's decision to go electric and left a lasting impact on popular music. In 1970, Eric Burdon, the band's lead singer, formed a new group blending funk and rock, continuing his musical evolution beyond the Animals' original sound.
