Art punk releases, week 40

This week in art punk, reissues and new albums highlight the genre's enduring experimental spirit. A super deluxe edition of Talking Heads' Fear of Music joins Protomartyr's Hotel Usona and MAN/WOMAN/CHAINSAW's Cannonball, both released in 2026. Meanwhile, a new ICE OUT compilation features contributions from Kathleen Hanna, Tom Morello, Fred Armisen, and Jello Biafra, while The Phantom Eyes offer a cover of DEVO’s 'Puppet Boy'. Patti Smith's memoir provides insight into her formative years, and The Fall's Bend Sinister marks its 40th anniversary.
