Overview

Recent developments in the honky tonk genre highlight Dolly Parton's enduring cultural influence, with her estate involved in a legal dispute, a tribute concert planned for the 2026 VMAs, and the announcement of a new coffee release. Honors continue to be bestowed upon her, including the designation of September 25 as Dolly Parton Day in California and Nashville. Meanwhile, tributes to other honky tonk legends, such as Hank Williams and Patsy Cline’s sidemen, underscore the genre’s rich legacy.
