Southern hip hop releases, week 36

This week in southern hip hop, new projects from Young Thug, Future, and 2 Chainz highlight a dynamic period of creative output, while collaborations featuring Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, and GASS underscore ongoing connections across the genre. Releases range from YSL Records' partnership with Mega Millions Music to the reissue of Beyoncé’s B’Day with Latin and Afrobeat influences. Meanwhile, unexpected developments such as Lil Wayne’s handwritten lyrics found in a trash can and David Banner’s potential free release of The God Box 2 add intrigue to the scene.
