Rival Sons are preparing for a new album set for a late 2027 release, with recording planned for January 2027 and a focus on a more raw and instinctual sound. Bassist Dave Beste will miss the fall 2026 U.S. tour, while guitarist Scott Holiday and frontman Jay Buchanan are pursuing solo projects, including Holiday's new single 'Autonomatic' and Buchanan's 'Storyteller' acoustic tour. Buchanan also released a cover of Black Sabbath's 'Changes' and discussed the influence of psychedelic experiences on his musical evolution.
