Overview
Recent developments in gothic rock include the release of a special edition of The Doors' iconic album, the launch of a Joy Division-themed book in Macclesfield, and the continued recognition of The Cure's 1989 album Disintegration as a defining work of the genre. New music from bands like Scheitan and Dark Side Cowboys, along with Fontaines D.C.'s chart-topping album Dopamine Chamber and their ongoing arena tour, highlight the genre's ongoing evolution. Meanwhile, The 69 Eyes' drummer Jussi 69 is stepping back from performances due to a viral meningitis diagnosis.
